Coop 1958 Negre
The cooperative format stemmed from the need to join forces and work together to achieve bigger common goals and with more potential than individually. The label, the COOP 1958 brand, "speaks volumes about the origins that we're proud of". This is a mature red wine that is fruity with nuances of ageing.

Pairing Notes
An excellent wine to pair with not too over-elaborate meals. Highly recommended for grilled meats, certain pan-grilled vegetables, salads with soft cheeses or a good blue fish. But neither will you look bad if you pair it with other dishes. It's one of those wines that's always a success. If the food doesn't go down well, it definitely won't be the wine's fault.
Occasion
This is one of those wines that, if you stop to think for a second, you need to realise that the bottle is also full of the efforts and dedication of many people who have decided to work collectively and achieve common goals. A very important concept today. A still, casual wine for anyone who likes a very mild and discreet hint of the barrel.
In the vineyard
Vineyards with an average age of 22 years with foreign varieties that are renowned in Montsec vineyards: Merlot, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Heights that range between 450 and 650 metres above sea level.
In the winery
Made with state-of-the-art technology, strictly respecting the original flavours. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in the vineyard.
Celler Montsec Artesa
The Celler Montsec is a section of the Cooperativa de Artesa de Segre. At the beginning, and in keeping with local traditions, winemaking was the cooperative's main activity.
The transformations experienced by agriculture in the 1960s and 1970s meant that this crop was replaced by cereals, as they were less labour intensive and more compatible with livestock farming.
Do Costers Del Segre
The continental nature of this region, far from the sea, kept it off trading routes for centuries, resulting in wines with characteristic features.
It was the first place in Catalonia where the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay varieties were introduced, together with native varieties, and also where Californian winemaking techniques were adopted.
