The wines of Celler Masroig are faithfull to the land where they are born. Les Sorts Sycar is one of its newest wines, a crianza with a lot of expressiveness and a more modern philosophy, hence its mixture of one of the most traditional grapes of the DO Montsant, the Carignan, with a more current grape, the Syrah, planted in the XXI century.

Nose
Intense aroma of violet, red fruits, strawberries and plums, with a lot of expressiveness. It also features spicy notes, tobacco and dark chocolate on a toasted base.
Mouthfeel
The entry into the mouth is soft despite being a wine with character. The ripe tannins are appreciated, which, together with the jam on the oak wood background, are the protagonists. The aftertaste is long and very pleasant.
General
Red wine crianza intense and expressive, complex and elegant. The result of a blend of Carignan and Syrah, tradition and modernity.

Pairing notes
It is a wine that deserves its time. To enjoy its maximum expression, it is worth allowing it at least 30 minutes to open before serving. Once in the glass, swallow it, taste it and let it accompany you in those special lunches and dinners, quiet, unhurried and with good company. An ideal wine for a romantic candlelit dinner, a family reunion, but yes, it is also a good choice for a business lunch and even more, if you are in charge of choosing the wine!
Occasion
We will pair this wine with dishes that also have character. Casserole dishes such as stews. Or, if you prefer, with a good grilled steak or barbaoca. Game: rabbit, deer, wild boar or duck, quail or a partridge in vinaigrette. You can also accompany it with sautéed vegetables or, to accompany a very rich assortment of sheep cheeses.

In the winery
The fermentation method is the traditional malolactic fermentation in casks , clarified with vegetable protein and with a gentle filtration. It is aged for 13 months in French oak barrels the Carignan variety and in American oak the Syrah, with subsequent aging in the bottle.

With more than 100 years of history, Celler Masroig maintains the essence and personality of the first day and accompanies it with the knowledge and innovation of the present.
Founded in 1917, it is currently one of the largest wineries and a benchmark for the Montsant Denomination of Origin, in the Priorat region. The objective of the winery is to produce a good product without leaving aside respect for tradition and show the character that defines it.
Do Montsant
In 1932, the Falset subzone was created within the limits of the DO Tarragona, which had previously occupied the current territory of the DO Montsant (finally created in 2001). It currently has a total of fifty-nine wineries spread between the Priorat and the Ribera de Ebro. The DO covers everything from family vineyards to private wineries of various sizes and major cooperatives.
