Vinyes de Barcelona is the only wine produced in the city of Barcelona. It's created at the Can Calopa de Dalt estate on the western side of the Collserola mountain range. That is where the grapes are grown, while the wine is made in a small, refurbished winery. This is a project started by the Barcelona City Council in 2001 and managed by L'Olivera since 2010.

In the vineyard
The Can Calopa estate covers three hectares in the Collserola Nature Park. Barcelona City Council planted vineyards there in 2000. Since 2010, the Cooperativa del Olivo has been managing the estate.
In the winery
Coupage of Syrah and Garnacha Tinta picked by hand. The two varieties are fermented separately and then mixed after the Syrah has spent twelve months in oak barrels.

L'Olivera Cooperativa
Celler Cooperatiu L'Olivera makes wines and olive oils with a view to expressing their true origins.
But the Bodega L'Olivera is much more. It's a cooperative for social integration, which incorporates people with difficulties who play an active role in the whole process.
Do Catalunya
The DO Catalunya, created in 1999, covers the vast majority of wine-producing municipalities in Catalonia.
It sets out to improve the quality of wines and vineyards by fostering research and applying cutting-edge technologies in order to respond to today's demanding markets. Consolidate, create and innovate are the cornerstones of this DO.
