History

With more than 100 years of history, Celler Masroig maintains the essence and personality of the first day and accompanies it with the knowledge and innovation of the present. Founded in 1917, it is currently one of the largest wineries and a benchmark for the Montsant Denomination of Origin, in the Priorat region. The objective of the winery is to produce a good product without leaving aside respect for tradition and show the character that defines it. 

Celler Masroig works with persistence and conviction on red clay to transmit the values on which the personality of the winery is based. This soil influences the quality of the grape. The sunlight reflected by the red earth on the grapes contributes effectively to the ripening process of the fruit. The willigness of the Celler Masroig team is to share these sensations that make them feel so complete and committed to the territory, with whom they have always established emotional bonds that are reflected in the work done.

Wine profile

All the products made at Celler Masroig are faithfull of the land where they are born. Grenache and Carignan are the native grape varieties of the area. Although both are main of the territory, in Celler Masroig Cariñena is understood as the basis of its wines. They say that whoever day passes, year pushes, and the years fit the Cariñena. The bigger it gets, the more spirit accompanies it. As you get older, you understand that being ambitious is for young people and with wisdom you learn to concentrate better on the small details. And, as the saying goes, the good is always made to wait.
