Missenyora
Missenyora, meaning 'my lady', was a term of address for the abbesses at Vallbona de les Monges monastery. The wine inspired by another wine formerly made in the area (vi bullit). It's also a single-varietal Macabeo, but with a sweet touch provided by residual sugar.

Yellow straw colour with greenish hues.
Nose
Aromas of white and stone fruit (peach, dried apricot). Lactic notes and a spicy hint of white pepper stand out.
Mouthfeel
On the palate it's unctuous, creamy and with a sweet spot. Fresh attack and a good persistence.
General
Missenyora is also the result of Cooperativa El Olivo's experience in making white wines ever since 1989. To make this wine, the best Macabeo of the vintage is selected. A particular highlight is the concentrated must that is added before bottling.

Great to pair with cold starters, such as pâté-based canapés or escalivada. Try it with roasted pepper and see what sensations you experience. And it's also perfect for an aperitif.
Occasion
This is a truly special wine. It's not just any old white thanks to the hint given just before bottling. This hint of concentrated must, different in each vintage according to the expert team of Tastingers, makes it sweet and wonderfully original. But you'll see how the amount added doesn't make it an 'over-sweet' wine. You'll find the balance spectacular. It's great for sharing with friends for a long lunch. It's joyous, fresh, surprising, and somewhat unconventional. Important: measure the Tastinging temperature well. You've been warned!
In the vineyard
The grape is grown in the vineyards of the Vallbona de les Monges plots and family-run estates in the Vall del Riu Corb subzone.
In the winery
Pressed whole, including seeds and stems. Fermented in American and French oak barrels. Aged on its own lees. Before bottling, depending on the Tastinge, some concentrated grape must is added, which makes the wine mellow and original.

But the Bodega L'Olivera is much more. It's a cooperative for social integration, which incorporates people with difficulties who play an active role in the whole process.

The continental nature of this region, far from the sea, kept it off trading routes for centuries, resulting in wines with characteristic features.
It was the first place in Catalonia where the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay varieties were introduced, together with native varieties, and also where Californian winemaking techniques were adopted.
