Perlat is one of Cellers Unió's flagship wines, renowned for its structure and aromas. After the creation of the DO Montsant, Perlat was one of the first wines to appear under this designation of origin. Bodegas Unión, starting with the 2017 vintage, has stepped up quality both in the wine and in its image, which give it a huge personality and a truly special appeal.

Attack in which silkiness fills your palate. Velvety and mellow, but with an exceptional balance.
This is a red wine that spends more than ten months maturing and intensifying in barrels of the best quality. It follows the Mediterranean tradition and in it you can Tastinge the ripe fruits, spicy touches and tannins that come from wood ageing.
Between 16 and 18 degrees. In summer, between 14 and 17 degrees
Red meat and game. Poultry. Cold cuts. Ideal with cured and semi-cured cheeses.
This wine easily pairs with a whole host of dishes and with more informal meals. It delivers a good balance of acidity that is a fanTastingic tool to counteract a slightly oily dish, triggering a refreshing sensation. Meanwhile, the red wine tannins, which come from the skin of the grape and the wood of the barrel, leave an astringent or drying sensation in the mouth, cleansing the palate and leaving it ready for the next bite.
Selected gobelet-trained vineyards over thirty years old, low yield, with chiefly honeycomb soils. The honeycomb adds complexity to the wine as it's a compact soil, with a good water retention, which is very interesting in today's climate crisis episodes.
The Garnacha, Cariñena and Syrah are produced separately at the Els Guiamets winery, which guarantees the maximum amount of fresh fruit. Fermentation with selected native yeasts. Barrel ageing for a minimum of 10 months (60-70% French oak, and the rest American oak).
In 1942 the Union of Cooperatives of the Camp of the Province of Tarragona to Reus was constituted. The entity was created with the aim of bringing together all the farmers of the province.
Three years later, Unió acquired the first facilities on Tivoli Street in the city of Reus, popularly known as "La Exportadora". In 1945 the Priorat Designation of Origin was born. That year, Unió bottled its first bottle of DO Priorat wine. In 1963 the Union of Cooperatives of the Camp of the Province of Tarragona is separated from the State and becomes a private entity.
In 1932, the Falset subzone was created within the limits of the DO Tarragona, which had previously occupied the current territory of the DO Montsant (finally created in 2001). It currently has a total of fifty-nine wineries spread between the Priorat and the Ribera de Ebro. The DO covers everything from family vineyards to private wineries of various sizes and major cooperatives.
