Pairing Notes
This is an excellent wine for pairing with food, but it also works wonderfully by the glass. A magnificent companion for soft cheeses, rice dishes and oily fish. And a great complement to blue fish.
Occasion
Perlat Blanco boasts a flavour that radiates freshness and vitality. It's surprising, with a creamy, sumptuous and nuanced texture. And it's great for casual weekend get-togethers or for a weekday lunch or dinner. Its range of registers is very large. And it can adapt to many situations in your day-to-day life.
In the vineyard
Selected hardy vines over 30 years old planted mainly in compact honeycomb soils, which add complexity to the wine. They have good water retention, which is very interesting in today's climate crisis episodes.
In the winery
Part of its coupage has fermented in 500-litre barrels, while the rest has done so in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 4 months on lees.
Cellers Unió
In 1942 the Union of Cooperatives of the Camp of the Province of Tarragona to Reus was constituted. The entity was created with the aim of bringing together all the farmers of the province.
Three years later, Unió acquired the first facilities on Tivoli Street in the city of Reus, popularly known as "La Exportadora". In 1945 the Priorat Designation of Origin was born. That year, Unió bottled its first bottle of DO Priorat wine. In 1963 the Union of Cooperatives of the Camp of the Province of Tarragona is separated from the State and becomes a private entity.
Do Montsant
In 1932, the Falset subzone was created within the limits of the DO Tarragona, which had previously occupied the current territory of the DO Montsant (finally created in 2001). It currently has a total of fifty-nine wineries spread between the Priorat and the Ribera de Ebro. The DO covers everything from family vineyards to private wineries of various sizes and major cooperatives.
