Garnacha Blanca from selected vines (10.93 hectares) with an average age of 29 years. Winemaking: traditional method The grapes come from 25 plots in Bot, Caseres, Gandesa and Horta de San Juan. Calcareous soils, with a loamy and clay-loam texture. Yield: 4,860 kg / hectare.
Selected harvest and hand picked. Fermentation and ageing on lees for seven months in stainless steel tanks. Limited production. Closure: 44 x 24 mm natural cork Minimum ageing time in bottle: 4 months.
Agrícola Sant Josep is a cooperative that was founded in the village of Bot in 1962. It processes and sells the fruits of the three most traditional woody crops in Mediterranean agriculture: the vine, the olive tree and the almond tree.
The so-called Customs of Orta (1296) and Miravet (1319) already regulated the sale of wine from the region. But it wasn't until the late nineteenth century that winegrowing became widespread. With the phylloxera plague, the demand from producers for DO Terra Alta [1] grapes increased, first from the French and then from the neighbouring regions that today are DO Tarragona and DOQ Priorat. In the early twentieth century, the organisation of cooperatives was a revolution.
