Grapes from different Merlot vineyards with an age of over 35 years, with a mix (in particular) of calcareous soils and clay. A key aspect is the work in the vineyard to meticulously select the grapes during the harvest process.
Mix with the selected Merlot from the different vineyards located in the Camp de Tarragona. Controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks below 18°C and with a careful selection of yeasts.
In 1942 the Union of Cooperatives of the Camp of the Province of Tarragona to Reus was constituted. The entity was created with the aim of bringing together all the farmers of the province.
Three years later, Unió acquired the first facilities on Tivoli Street in the city of Reus, popularly known as "La Exportadora". In 1945 the Priorat Designation of Origin was born. That year, Unió bottled its first bottle of DO Priorat wine. In 1963 the Union of Cooperatives of the Camp of the Province of Tarragona is separated from the State and becomes a private entity.
The Romans were the driving force behind wines in the regions of Tarragona, which were considered the most privileged in the whole Empire.
The Calle Real in Tarragona, just by the port, grouped together many wineries that exported their wines by sea across Europe.
