Mistela (vin de liqueur)
With a dense and bright appearance and an intense cherry red colour.
Very fruity and mellow, aromas of raisins, dried figs, black fruit jam and also spicy nuances.
A bit of freshness and sweetness balanced by ripe but present tannins. Simply excellent.
Sweet and mellow red wine, very fruity. The surprising red mistela is the least known of these vins de liqueur. We make it with late harvest grapes that are almost as large as raisins, which we crush and macerate with high purity aguardiente.
Between 8 and 10 degrees
Llàgrimes de Tardor Mistela Negra excels the traditional consumption of this type of vin de liqueur and proves perfect for pairing with the dessert course of an important meal. Its texture, which offsets the sweetness, means that we can pair it with slightly sweet desserts, such as a cheesecake or dark chocolate cake. The combination with quince and cheese or any blue cheese is also exquisite.
Simply amazing! This mistela is a sweet vin de liqueur that revolutionises your palate. Strangely enough, it can be paired with sweet and not so sweet desserts. But also try pairing it with semi-soft cheeses with a very intense flavour. For example, drink it with a blue cheese made with raw sheep's milk. Let us know what you think! Drink within three years of harvest. Once the bottle is open, replace the original closure and store it in a cool and dark place away from light. You can keep it for up to three years from the harvest. Serve chilled (8-10ºC).
In the vineyard
Vineyards spread over 150 plots with an average age of 30 years old. Each harvest, we look for the most balanced grapes with a yield under five tons per hectare.
In the winery
Mistela is a wine that is made with must macerated with wine alcohol. It's made with Garnacha Tinta grapes that are allowed to ripen in the vineyard and are harvested when they are almost raisins.
Sant Josep Vins
Agrícola Sant Josep is a cooperative that was founded in the village of Bot in 1962. It processes and sells the fruits of the three most traditional woody crops in Mediterranean agriculture: the vine, the olive tree and the almond tree.
Do Terra Alta
The so-called Customs of Orta (1296) and Miravet (1319) already regulated the sale of wine from the region. But it wasn't until the late nineteenth century that winegrowing became widespread. With the phylloxera plague, the demand from producers for DO Terra Alta grapes increased, first from the French and then from the neighbouring regions that today are DO Tarragona and DOQ Priorat. In the early twentieth century, the organisation of cooperatives was a revolution.
