The winery was founded in 1933. 50 years later, he began to bottle his own wines and in 1995 he began the production of his kosher wine with the Mevushal method. The production of this wine involved a strong investment and changes in the winery, both in the facilities and in the processes, but the result was such a success that it crossed borders. Currently the Capçanes winery produces a wide range of young, semi-crianza and high-end wines and is one of the most emblematic wineries of the DO Montsant.
The vineyards of Celler de Capçanes are protected by the Sierra de Llaberia. The Garnacha tinta and Cariñena varieties predominate, located at a considerable altitude and, for the most part, planted in glass. The soil has a marked mineral character, with very varied components where they are present from llicorella slate and limestone, to clay and honeycomb. All this set provides wines with a high concentration, complex and with a unique profile.
