Adernats

History

The Vinícola de Nulles winery, with the wine cathedral as its emblem, is the story of people working together to make a dream come true. A breath of hope that was almost impossible after the huge desolation caused by the phylloxera plague.

In the early 1900s, and after hundreds of years with family plantations and winemaking traditions, the inhabitants of Nulles decide to pool their resources and knowledge to create the San Isidro collective and build the village's winery, the Catedral del Vino de Nulles. This union materialised in 1917, with the 1920 vintage being the first to fill the new tanks at the modernist winery.

In 1987, the Adernats brand was created to honour the generations of winemakers in Nulles who made everything possible. Named after the land closest to the winery, Adernats is still the leading brand of wines and cavas in Tarragona twenty-five years later, with eighteen products in total.

Profile of wines

Since the outset, the winery has mainly worked with the local white varieties of Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Moscatel, which give excellent results.

However, three years ago it started working with other varieties such as Parellada and Chardonnay for whites, and Tempranillo and Merlot for reds, all with huge success. The roots, which feed on a very rich clay and lime soil that receives little rainfall, give lower but highly concentrated yields of grapes, which guarantee the distinctive intensity of our wines.
